Miradry

MiraDry is a revolutionary new treatment that stops underarm or axillary sweating and odor. In just one to two treatments, sweating can be reduced about 90% and odor almost virtually eliminated. MiraDry is a quick, non-invasive procedure that takes approximately one hour and is performed in our office setting. The results are long-lasting and dramatic.

Since its launch over 30,000 MiraDry treatments have been performed with a 90% efficacy rating. Kevitch, Chung & Jan were the first board certified plastic surgeons in the Lehigh Valley, Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Poconos, and Reading areas to use MiraDry. Our results are seen with our experience.

What is sweat?
Sweat is fluid produced by eccrine and apocrine glands of the skin. Eccrine glands are the main sweat producing glands of the underarms, while apocrine glands are the main odor production glands.

Do you sweat more than others?
Approximately 1 in 5 Americans state that they are affected by excessive sweat. Indications of excessive sweating are: the frequent use of antiperspirants, changing clothes more than once a day from underarm sweating, embarrassment from underarm sweating, and worrying that people will see your sweat stains.

What is the MiraDry procedure?
MiraDry is a FDA approved procedure that significantly reduces underarm sweating and virtually eliminates underarm odor. MiraDry is performed in an office setting under local anesthesia. The device sends controlled energy into the region of the skin where the eccrine and apocrine glands reside. The energy in turns permanently destroys the eccrine and apocrine glands.

How long does the procedure take and is there any down time?
The procedure typically takes one hour and there is minimal to no downtime.

What can I expect after treatment?
After treatment, patients may complain of some discomfort in the treated areas. This may last for a few days. Some patients will also have swelling or fullness in the underarm region.
